Beautiful People: Marina De Buchi
Our blog series, Beautiful People, features women who inspire us with both their outer and inner glow.
Meet Marina De Buchi, a jewelry designer from London. Marina De Buchi has on going mission to put an end to modern day slavery, through raising awareness and contributing 10% of all online sales to The A21 Campaign. Marina aspires to empower women to make a difference and to support them in their journey of life, by inspiring them through the symbolism behind the jewelry.
Here's what beauty means to her.
When do you feel like your best self?
I feel like my best self when I'm expressing myself & immersed in something I love. For me, that's swimming in the ocean, having a cup of coffee, reading a good book, watching documentaries, or creating art. Lately, FaceTiming friends and spending more time in solitude. And ultimately, when I stand up for what's right, even though it's not always easy.
If you could meet any one person for coffee, who would it be and what would you discuss?
I would love to meet Bethany Hamilton. She's an amazing surfer that lost her arm in a shark attack. Her tenacity is incredibly inspiring; I think she demonstrates an inner strength that everyone has, but only a few choose to use.
What is your definition of beauty?
I believe that beauty really does come from within, people glow when they are happy on the inside! And, when someone is unapologetically themselves, they also give permission to others to be free. That to me is really beautiful!
